Board of DirectorsExecutive DirectorsChristopher Pearce - Chief ExecutiveChristopher Pearce has built the Group since inception and has been responsible for the formulation and implementation of strategy, collaborative and licensing agreements, and intellectual property. Formerly a Director of Smith New Court Securities plc, he has considerable City experience in research, marketing and corporate finance and was co-founder and Executive Chairman of Fitness First plc. James Malthouse - Finance DirectorJames Malthouse joined the Group in 1993 and is a Chartered Accountant with banking and corporate finance experience. He was Chairman and Finance Director of Unigroup plc and Finance Director of Harcourt Group plc. Dr. Peter Schulz-Knappe - Research & Development Director / CSODr. Peter Schulz-Knappe joined the Group on 1st August, 2006. He was CSO and founder of BioVisioN AG (prior to its takeover by Digilab LLC in February 2006), a company that has used mass spectrometry to quantify and sequence biomarkers in pharmacogenomics and personalised medicine through differential peptide display (peptidomics). Formerly Head of the Department of Preparative Peptide Chemistry at the Lower Saxony Institute of Peptide Research, Dr. Schulz-Knappe has worked in cell biology and peptide and protein related science for 20 years.
Non-Executive DirectorsR Steven Harris – Chairman (i) (ii)Steve Harris is a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. Until June 1995 he was Director of Development and Licensing at Medeva plc. He has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 43 years including with ICI, Merck Sharp & Dohme, Eli Lilly, Boots, Reckitt and Colman, and Gensia. He is a non-executive Director of Advanced Medical Solutions plc and Phynova plc and is non-executive Chairman of Sinclair Pharma plc, Myotec Therapeutics Limited and Cyprotex plc. Professor William Dawson (i) (ii)Bill Dawson retired from Eli Lilly and Company in August 1996 after 27 years service, 14 as Research Director in the UK and latterly as Director of Technology Acquisition, Europe. He is a Director of Bionet Limited, Creative Peptides Limited, Onyvax Limited, Antitope Limited and a Governor of the University of Brighton, a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and of the Royal Society of Chemistry. Dr Alf Lindberg (ii)Alf Lindberg retired from his position as Executive Vice President of Research & Development at Aventis Pasteur in 2001. Before that he held the same position at Wyeth Vaccines between 1992 and 1995. From 1982 to 1992 he was Professor of Clinical Bacteriology at the Huddinge University Hospital, Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden. He is a consultant to the biotech and pharmaceutical industry and a non-exectutive Director of Avant Immunotherapies in the USA, Pharmexa A/S and Curalogic A/S in Denmark and Catella Healthcare Investment and Eurocine Vaccines in Sweden.
